Compassion and respect for each person’s unique path are central to my work.
Therapy is an opportunity to review both current and past patterns, traumas and injuries in a safe environment.
My therapeutic style is interactive, helping you explore while supporting the discovery of your more authentic self. The techniques I utilize are drawn from various disciplines, such as communication theory, self-psychology, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
I see therapy as a radical rather than traditional process, focused on change rather than adjustment to expected gender roles and expectations. I work with all sexual orientations and individuals with non-conforming gender identity. Through the therapeutic relationship, I help clients develop trust and more open, non-defensive ways of interacting in the world.
I believe psychotherapy / counseling is essentially a journey in self-love, self-knowing, and acceptance.
Some of my areas of expertise include:
- Relationship issues
- Couples counseling; sex therapy
- Sexuality
- Grief & loss
- Life transitions
- Stress & anxiety
- Non-traditional lifestyles (e.g., kink, poly)
- LGBTQIA+ lifestyles
- Non-conforming gender identity
